While offerings vary slightly from region to region, the CyclingMadeReal model supports the following opportunities for women within each region:

  • REGIONAL POINTS SERIES – These series for beginner (Cat4) and intermediate (Cat3) women include special prizes offered by CMR sponsors to encourage participation, camaraderie and advancement. Series leaders are given a CMR leaders jersey to race in following each event.
  • POST RACE CLINICS – These clinics provide a rare opportunity to discuss a day at the races with experienced cyclists and help bridge the gap between elite and beginner racers.
  • SKILLS CLINICS – Geared toward road riding and triathlon time trialing, these clinics range from one day to multiple weekends and are taught by experienced women cyclists. The clinics are designed to help riders gain confidence on their bike, meet other women cyclists, develop cycling skills, and introduce the topic of racing – all in a supportive setting geared especially for women.
  • RIDES & SPECIAL EVENTS – Regional Series coordinators plan local opportunities for learning and developing cycling skills through safe, women-oriented group rides and even fun social events like cycling fashion shows.
  • COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT – CMR encourages tying women’s cycling to the community through events paired with children and junior riders, Special Olympics, Best Buddies and others.
